Video from First Ground Works Live Event Is Now Available

Ground Works held its first live event as a virtual session in the a2ru national conference on October 28, 2020. In this session, entitled "Dear Arts Integration Community: A Letter of Inquiry from the CERN-IARI Collaboration," the interdisciplinary CERN-IARI team at the Spencer Museum of Art, University of Kansas, presented their early-stage research, followed by lively discussion with a Ground Works panel and session attendees. As the team—comprised of a visual artist, curator, mathematician, and physicist—is in the conceptual phase of their work together, their presentation was about potential and process rather than a finished project.

Attendees at the session listed among their top take-aways "value in working through things publicly (among peers and scholars)" and "exciting to see interdisciplinary collaborative work being done in a generative way (rather than a STEM to Arts linear offloading/interpretive way), and to get to hear about the process and challenges."
